Fundraising as part of team: Radio Calderdale

My Story

This July, I will be taking part in the Big Hospital Walk from Huddersfield Royal Infirmary to Calderdale Royal Hospital to help raise funds for Radio Calderdale. 

Radio Calderdale is the hospital radio for The Calderdale Royal Hospital, and has been  'A Friend at the Bedside' since 1981. It is staffed entirely by volunteers. I joined Radio Calderdale back in 1985 and besides presenting an 80s show, I am Chair and Membership Manager. 

In recent years, our output has changed from broadcasting to patients' bedside sets to broadcasting online. This means that if you request a song for a loved one in hospital, you can listen in too, wherever you are in the world, and share the moment with them! 

We also provide an information service for the CHFT when required. 

Obviously, our running costs have increased significantly so raising money is essential to keep our service going. Please consider making a small donation to help towards this. Thank you.
